Standard Camp Personal Kit List
Notes:
This list can be cut down as appropriate for weekend or overnight camps. Mark your equipment with your initials etc. All kit to be packed in one bag. Uniform (except caps) is to be worn on the journeys both ways.
If weather conditions are poor, warm clothing will be essential. Many small layers are better than few thicker ones. You will need a set of good waterproofs and decent boots. Hat and gloves are useful too. Remember all your boating clothes may be wet after the first activity, so a second set is necessary for other activities. For summer camp remember plenty of T-shirts and shorts, sun cream and a cap or sun hat.
Penknives are only allowed at camp with permission and must not be worn as part of uniform. Other knives are generally not permitted.
Radios, electronic games and mobile phones are not permitted at camp as they frequently are lost or broken. All telephone contact with home should be through the leaders and/or the campsite pay-phone.
There is a substantial amount of lost property without a nametag after every camp. Write or sew a name onto everything to ensure its safe return.
